The numbers are in for the debut weekend of Wonder Woman - the first solo movie for a female superhero since 2005 (Jennifer Garner in Elektra), and the first by a female director - and they are huge! $103 million in the US and $122 million internationally make it the biggest weekend by a film directed by a woman and #15 on the all time list of superhero movies.
And it was a huge hit with the critics - not always the case for superhero movies. The audience for opening weekend came in at 52% female - also a difference from superhero movies which have averaged 60% male, but it still means a lot of men saw it too. Read more via Hollywood Reporter.
