What Teen Girls See When They Look in the Mirror
The teen years are tough for any girl. I remember glasses, braces, gangly legs. I felt in the shadow of my mother and sister - so much so that my father would whisper into my ear as I slept at night: "you're beautiful." I only found that out at my bridal shower. These girls stare into the camera with all kinds of emotion and qualities on display - confidence, timidity, anxiety, strength. They are living their truth. More via the New Yorker.
