Size: 12" high x 16" w x 4" g

Material: vintage woven and embroidered cotton, hot pink cotton lining, 100% cow leather gusset and handles

Handmade in Guatemala

A go-everywhere tote made from repurposed vintage corte textiles from Colotenango, a municipality in the Guatemalan highlands, where women traditionally wear them as wrap skirts. We collected the brightest pieces from Petronila, an illiterate textile vendor who sent her children and grandchildren to school, and finished them with tan suede details, hot pink cotton lining and an interior zip pocket.

Every bag is unique but all have the same colors and feel (if you'd like to pick your specific pattern, send an email to and we'll send snapshots). Comes with a free friendship bracelet made by the girls your purchase supports. This bag was made in an ethical production group in Antigua, Guatemala. The production of each bag provided 1 day of work to women. The sale of each bag will provide a day of education and life skills mentoring for adolescent indigenous Mayan girls through our 2014 NGO partner, Redmi. Learn more.
